Spent a good portion of tonight trying to figure out why my 2018 Mac Mini running Proxmox wasn’t behaving well. Ended up running Memtest86 and determining that the issue is bad RAM. Took the machine apart and tried both sticks individually and across slots with continued failures, so now I’m wondering if it’s the logic board.
Not sure what to do at this point. 64GB of DDR4 goes for around $500 these days, so if the RAM isn’t the problem it’d be nice to pick up a computer that could use it (whether that’d be another Mac Mini or a 1L PC). But I don’t want to waste money on an old computer if the RAM is toast.
